Then and Now...
With just a handful if customers and the leadership of a veteran electrician, Hoosier Industrial Electric, Inc officially came to be in 1984. The company was founded by Stephen R. Blackburn, Sr. (a.k.a. Buck) with the aid of some partners who have since sold their interest to him. Buck continues to operate the company along with his family members.
Bucks reputation and business grew in tandem. In 1990, the company built a larger facility in what was a newly developed industrial park located in North Vernon, Indiana. This site remains the headquarters today.
Buck sought employees that were committed to customer satisfaction and quality work. He made sure that his staff received continued training as new technologies emerged. His five children, Cheryl, Steve, Chris, Brian and Jill grew up in the business. Four of those five are serving the company to date. They continue their father's tradition - a commitment to customer satisfaction and quality work, with the emphasis on state-of-the-art technology.
Over the years, Hoosier Industrial Electric continually strengthened its market position through diversification. Developing vast resources including facilities, equipment and professional staff, the company evolved into two business divisions: Electrical Contracting and Electrical Apparatus Sales and Repair. This allows the company to serve its clients as a one-stop electric shop.
